Our small family-owned hotel in Vienna is in an idyllic wine town surrounded by vineyards. In the antique Austrian style building you will find comfort and a special atmosphere for a relaxed stay. You will meet us at the reception, and taste some typical Austrian specialities at a Heuriger in the famous Neustift am Walde wine area.
We bike along Lake Neusiedl, and cycling through picturesque villages and vineyards, we stop in the charming town of storks, Rust. We ride to Sopron, and stay 2 nights in a fantastic monastery, a perfect place for relaxation, where you’ll enjoy the cultural heritage of 500 years, combined with the comfort of the 21st century, and a lovely dinner in a 18th century frescoed dining room. A nice walk in the historic town Sopron, to see its Roman city walls & lovely buildings. We cycle through nice woods to Lake Fertő, one of the most interesting wild water areas of Central Europe, enjoy a fantastic paleontological exhibition in a quarry, and a gourmet dinner & organic wines in a unique restaurant of Hungary, full of antique furniture, restored by the Gault&Millau awarded owner, one of the best winemakers of Hungary. We stop at the splendid Esterházy Palace “Versailles of Hungary” to meet the Count & Joseph Haydn, and cycle through the untouched World-Heritage Fertő-Hanság National Park, where you can see its rich flora and fauna in a little museum. We ride on to an amazing Romanesque church, and then to nice vineyards, where you can taste the hand-crafted wines and dinner of a lover of gastronomy, in his old cellar and friendly inn, where we stay. A beautiful bike ride along idyllic arms of the Danube, and picturesque landscapes, stopping at one of the nicest spas and Renaissance castles of Hungary, and a walk around the wonderful Baroque houses & the Cathedral in Győr, the “Town of rivers”. Today we stay in a lovely boutique hotel, an antique building of the Esterházys, where you’ll enjoy a gourmet dinner cooked by their Michelin star chef, and the nice view of the surrounding lake with the old castle in Tata. (cycling appr 32km/20m)
We have a leisure bike tour in the charming town Tata through beautiful woods around picturesque lakes, visit the medieval Castle, ride to a lovely little vineyard, and taste the organic wines made by a local wine maker. After all these experiences we get back to our hotel and enjoy their delicious dinner. (cycling appr. 23km/14m)
Biking through beautiful woods off the beaten tracks we roll in the former capital of Hungary, Esztergom. We visit Hungary’s biggest cathedral and a great statue of our first King St Stephen, where he was crowned in 1000. Then we ride along the Danube to Visegrád, and walk in the 13th century Citadel. You can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Danube Bend, one of the most scenic areas of Hungary from here, and the friendly atmosphere, a small swimming pool, and fantastic gourmet food in our lovely small family run hotel on the island of peacefulness. (cycling appr 26km/16m)
You can enjoy the picturesque view of Szentendre, a lovely town of artists, and we take a stroll among the charming Baroque houses, cafés, souvenir shops, and visit a unique Marzipan Museum. From here we ride along the Danube, bike through Margaret Island, one of the nicest parks of Europe, look at the ruins of a 3rd century town Aquincum, and you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Royal Palace and other interesting sights in Budapest, or our lovely boutique hotel near the Chain Bridge. (cycling appr 28km/17m)
After breakfast you can enjoy some free time in Budapest, and we hope you get home with nice memories for a lifetime.
