Biking to Zell am See, a popular holiday resort at a beautiful lake, we ride into a 12th century Medieval Castle in the Hohe Tauern National Park, where you can enjoy the fantastic Gothic atmosphere, your exclusive room, and the panoramic view of the Alps for 3 nights. (cycling appr 45km/28m)
We take a walking tour and admire the highest Waterfalls of Europe (380m), a breathtaking nature spectacle with sensational views, and the impressive power of the roaring water. Then we cycle along the River Salzach back to our Castle Hotel, and relax in its lovely courtyard or pool. (hiking appr 5-10km/3-6m, biking 36km/22m)
Cycling to Kaprun, we lift up to 3029m, to see the amazing panorama of the Alps and the snowy Grossglockner, highest peak in Austria. Then you can enjoy the pleasant milieu of our old castle, and their delicious dinner. (cycling appr 30km/19m)
Cycling along the River Salzach, a walk in a fantastic gorge in the Alps with spectacular waterfalls, and getting to the charming village St Wolfgang, where we stay 3 nights, to enjoy the lovely ambience of an old Mansion, which was the Country House of Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor. (cycling 16km/10m, walking appr 1,5km/1m)
A nice walk in town Hallstatt, a breathtaking view of the Dachstein Glaciers and Lake Hallstatt from the top of a 400m high cliff, cycling along magnificent scenery at Lake Hallstatt, and back to our mansion, where you can relax on the terrace with a nice drink and the fascinating view of Lake Wolfgang. (cycling appr 13km/8m)
We take the steepest cog-wheel railway of Europe to enjoy the panoramic view of all the Lakes of Salzkammergut. We bike around the picturesque Wolfgangsee to another charming village St Gilgen, and cycle back to St Wolfgang, to taste the gourmet compositions and wines in our hotel. (cycling appr 40km/25m)
After enjoying some relaxation in St Wolfgang, or visiting some sights in Salzburg, we hope you leave this “magnificent part of the world” as Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor said, with wonderful memories for your lifetime.
